As a Mets fan I should be thrilled with this act of idiocy, but I can’t let the foolishness stand. Chipper is 36 and breaks down every year; he couldn’t even get through Spring Training this year. I understand it’s a bad look getting into a contract dispute with your most popular player ever, but why not give it the year and see if he hits .268 with 13 HRs, right? OK, no one cares about this.
