Whenever people get into fights about the merits of a musician, they tend to toss around this chestnut: “Name three songs by [him/her/them]!” This is meant to be derogatory. Not memorable. Not hitmaking. I can’t really name more than two Neko Case songs, and so in that way her songs aren’t memorable, I guess. But her voice, which is what human voices sound like while singing with an echo effect, makes up for this tenfold. This album is as forgettable as all the others, but also, not.
