It may be a bit premature, but I honestly believe that Roger Deakins will finally win a Academy Award for his work on Revolutionary Road. His only competition, in my eyes, are: Mandy Walker for Australia (Say what you will about the film, but it looks beautiful) and Claudio Miranda for The Curious Case Of Benjamin Button. The Almighty Jeffrey Wells has put Wally Pfister for his work on The Dark Knight and Colin Watkinson for The Fall. I mean, there’s your five nominees right there.

If The Fall is nominated for anything I’ll be shocked. Just looking good isn’t enough. People need to see the movie and not many saw that mess. I still fuck with Tarsem, but he needs a William Monahan script ASAP.
Deakins is god and everything, but this seems like Benjamin Button’s to lose.
