Neil Young - “Unknown Legend”
With the exception of Déjà Vu, my parents were definitely not Neil Young fans. I have handful of Neil Young songs on my computer that I have found on my own. Most of them, like this one (obviously on my radar because of its inclusion in Rachel Getting Married), are the original versions of songs that other artists have covered (such as “Dreaming Man” or “Pocahontas”). A few were passed along to me by friends via mix tapes (like “Harvest” and “After the Gold Rush”). And then there are the standards, like “Old Man” and “Heart of Gold”, which even the son of a pair of Neil Young-haters can’t avoid.
So my question is: what other Neil Young standouts am I missing out on?
You should just get this.

Sometimes I think “Winterlong” isn’t merely describing, but actually creating, my romantic reality, Judith Butler-style....
