The first DVD Ilene ever bought for me was Tarsem’s The Cell, which, I think, to her, looked smart but beautiful, even though she’d never seen it. She was right. Tarsem’s new film, The Fall, looks like Dali sprung to life, just dripping with grandeur and oddity. It’s been in the can, so to speak, for nearly two years. Hollywood is insane. David Fincher and Spike Jonze are good souls for unearthing it and giving it a home.
Also, since when do Spike and Fincher team up for things like this?
